Christians and Exorcists Protest Witches Hexing of Justice Kavanaugh with Prayer

On Saturday, 60 people showed up at a Brooklyn Witchcraft bookstore to put a hex on President Donald Trump, Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and GOP Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. This prompted a dozen Christians and exorcists to show up to protest the hex through prayer.

According to the New York Post, over 1,300 people initially planned to attend the hexing ritual but only some 60 people actually showed up. Still, Christians showed up to counteract the hex through prayer.

"We're praying against their hexes," one believer said.

The hexing ritual was organized and live streamed by a New York bookshop called Catland Books. According to the Christian Post, the organizers described the ceremony as "an act of resistance and resilience."

Dakota Bracciale, co-owner of Catland Books, told BBC News that the hex is "aimed at exposing Brett Kavanaugh for what he truly is, to cause him harm and see him undone."

On the witches' alter one could see candles and photos of the President, Justice Kavanaugh and Senator Mitch McConnell.

The organizers told BBC that they expect to see results "as soon as possible," but added that "there's not a firm timeline on these things."

The hex comes following Justice Kavanaugh's confirmation to the supreme court despite being accused of attempted rape by a California professor, Christine Blasey Ford. Kavanaugh maintained his innocence through his hearing processes with Ford and has continued to deny the allegations put forward by her and two other women.

Trump remained in support of his nominee throughout the process and successfully saw him confirmed to the Supreme Court.

According to the Christian Post, Bracciale and Catland Books have previously performed hexing rituals on public officials, including President Trump, which they believe have worked.

"We feel the rituals were a success as they sought to expose Trump for what he is, and that has happened on many levels; from the Russia probe to the exposé on his finances to Stormy Daniels (the porn actress who says she had a sexual affair with Trump in 2006)."

In an article for The National Catholic Register, Roman Catholic exorcist for the Diocese of San Jose, California, Father Gary Thomas said that priests are praying for Kavanaugh because witchcraft is a serious matter.

When asked about the announcement of the Hex, Thomas said he was appalled.

The Exorcist also noted that his colleagues felt the same way, "I sent this to a load of exorcists yesterday and their reaction was similar to mine. That shows this is not something that is make-believe," he added.

Thomas told The National Catholic Register that over the past several decades he has witnessed an increased boldness in people of the satanic world.

"They are more confident that the general public will be more accepting of the demonic," he claimed.

"This is a conjuring of evil — not about free speech," Thomas continued. "Conjuring up personified evil does not fall under free speech. Satanic cults often commit crimes; they murder and sexually abuse everyone in their cult."

Thomas made note that people in a state of grace are little affected by curses and hexes, but people who are not can experience serious symptoms such as physical illness, psychosis, depression, and demon attachment.

"The decision to do this against a Supreme Court justice is a heinous act and says a lot about the character of these people that should not be underestimated or dismissed," the priest said. "These are real evil people."
