Maxine Waters Suggests in Church Sermon That She Was Sent by God to Stop Trump

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) has been one of President Trump's most outspoken critics, recently going so far as to encourage people to publicly harass members of the Trump administration.

On Sunday, however, Waters suggested in a church sermon in Los Angeles that she's on a divine mission to stop the president, blasting the Trump administration on a range of issues.

Addressing the congregation at First AME Church, Waters said, "You've gotta know that I'm here to do the work that I was sent to do, and as pastor said to me when I came in this morning, 'When God sends you to do something, you just do it!'" she exclaimed to cheers from the crowd.

"So, I have a message. I'm going back to Washington tomorrow morning. I'm going to tell them pastor told me to come here and just do it!" she concluded.

Waters told the congregation that "Russia elected this president," then blasted Trump for his private meeting with Vladimir Putin and his stance toward NATO.

"We never dreamed we'd have someone in the White House who was divisive, who could not tell the truth, and who was intent on not making America great again, but taking America down!" she said.

Waters also criticized Trump's policies on health care and the separation of migrant families at the Mexican border.

Just last week, a group of demonstrators burned and stomped on an American flag outside Waters' L.A. office while shouting, "America was never great!"

The protesters had showed up to counter a planned demonstration against Waters by the Oath Keepers, but the far-right group ended up no-showing.

Leading figures rallying the public to commit random acts of bullying, violence or terror then after succeeding with that encouraging them in informal ways is a well known phenomenon from history. Mao and the redguards during the cultural revolution, for instance. And the-one-who-appears-on-that-card and his guards/bullies during the early days. In both cases the participants grew into actual organizations in time. I'm not so sure that Maxine Waters would attempt to actually lead such an organization whether formally or informally but if someone eventually does then she was at least an early rallying voice.

I just wish someone would hurry up and throw a bucket of water on her so she would melt into a pile of whatever it is that witches turn into when they are melted.

    Again I ask:

First AME known as “FAME” has always been a very politically active church (strongly to the left of course). I believe they are extremely pro choice.

Given the following statements that President Trump made at his rallies while candidate, I'd say he would be more likely to do what you're describing than Waters:

"The guards are being very gentle with him," Trump said. "I'd like to punch him in the face, I'll tell you that." -- Feb 2016

"Maybe he should have been roughed up, because it was absolutely disgusting what he was doing," Trump said on the Fox News Channel on Sunday morning. "I have a lot of fans, and they were not happy about it. And this was a very obnoxious guy who was a trouble-maker who was looking to make trouble." November 22, 2015

"If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them, would you? Seriously, ok. Just knock the hell — I promise you I will pay for the legal fees, I promise." February 2016

Waters using the pulpit for a political tirade against Trump, while judging harshly and presumptively? Shows a disregard for the sanctity of the church service. Good grief.

That's rough but it involves reacting to specific acts committed in a specific situation rather than calls for randoms acts directed at people belonging to a certain group apart from any acts that they themselves have committed. Do you see the difference ?
