She timed that carefully and probably omitted a mention of the fact that the customers that were served after hours had placed orders within hours. Her audience relates well to her and trust her. The owners understand her power and decide to try to save their business by obeying her narrative instead of maintaining that white customers were refused service before she was. Even if she had been the first to be refused on that day, the fact that noone gets to place an order after hours should have been enough.

The owners are probably right, their business would have been less successful at least in the short term if they had gone with the facts instead of obeying her narrative. The activist knows her power and she's high on it.

The whole dynamic resembles people's thinking in general. They'd rather find immediate social acceptance than stand for (or even go with) truth and this extends beyond the realm of the Christian witness. Totalitarian regimes have thrived on that way of thinking before.

It reminds me of the frenzy seen in the NT accounts, which some times ended with the highest authority, the Romans, giving in to the sentiments of the crowds even though they had no particular reason to do so. Some times they didn't give in but they typically remained passive even so. Possibly they thought that they shouldn't go too far, for the sake of public relations. Here's an example of that :

Acts 18:12 When Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him to the judgment seat, 13 saying, “This fellow persuades men to worship God contrary to the law.”'
14 And when Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, “If it were a matter of wrongdoing or wicked crimes, O Jews, there would be reason why I should bear with you. 15 But if it is a question of words and names and your own law, look to it yourselves; for I do not want to be a judge of such matters.” 16 And he drove them from the judgment seat.

Notice the next verse :

17 Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. But Gallio took no notice of these things.

I always wondered who this Sosthenes was to "the Greeks" but it turns out that he was one Paul's converts :

1 Cor 1:1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother

So what they were apparently trying to do was to engage the Roman proconsul so that he would take a clearer stand for or against but the proconsul chose to ignore them. Why ? It could be because he was afraid of a riot starting if he had interfered on the Christians' behalf.

I would imagine the moral of the remaining workers is way down. It’s hard to work in a place where you know the boss does not have your back.

I find it sad that workers in the US apparently are unable to sue their employers over being fired for doing their jobs according to their employers' prescription.

I could be wrong, but I think in a “right to work” state, a employer has a right to fire you, but if he gives a reason, the employee can sue if it is unfair. It doesn’t mean the employee will win. Personally, I wouldn’t work for them after that, but I would make a complaint to make sure it didn’t affect my unemployeement. (If you are fired with cause, you don’t receive unemployment insurance)

Left lunacy and PC gone wild. Ridiculous. So now you have watch how you treat a person of color even though you are following the rules and did the same to a white person. This was totally set up and trumped up charges.

The apology said that while the employees are not racist and were simply following protocol, they were fired because “sometimes impact outweighs intent” and “the “clamoring public” demanded they be fired.

Clamoring public? This is what social media is doing to a society without a backbone.
