    Summary:

A deep analysis of a series of surveys across 16 countries that spanned several years shows that people who are on the conservative end of the political spectrum believe their lives are meaningful while those on the liberal end continue to search for meaning.

A new USC Dornsife-led psychology study shows that conservatives, more so than liberals, report feeling that their lives are meaningful or have purpose.

"Finding meaning in life is related to the sense or feeling that things are the way they should be, and that there is a sense of order," said David Newman, a doctoral candidate at USC Dornsife's Mind and Society Center. "If life feels chaotic, then that would likely dampen your sense that life is meaningful."

The results, published on June 15 in the journal Social Psychological and Personality Science, were based on five studies examining how strongly conservatives and liberals feel that their lives have purpose.....

...Researchers examined data acquired from five studies looking at how liberals and conservatives rate their lives in terms of meaning and purpose in a dataset spanning four decades.

Participants were asked to rate their political beliefs on a spectrum, ranging from "extremely conservative" to "extremely liberal" and were subsequently asked to respond to statements questioning the extent to which they felt their lives had purpose such as "I understand my life's meaning".

The study's authors accounted for religious beliefs when analysing the responses and still found strong links between those with conservative ideologies having a stronger sense of purpose compared to liberals....

..."I was a bit surprised no one had expanded the research to include other measures of well-being, and I am interested in learning more about differences between hedonic forms of well-being (e.g., life satisfaction, positive emotions) and eudaimonic forms of well-being (e.g., meaning in life)."

Newman added that further research is necessary in order to fully establish the links between conservatives and feelings of a meaningful life.

"A question that still needs to be addressed is why conservatives find more meaning in life than liberals," he added. ...

The atheist mantra is that everything else than the concept of chaotic evolution is a crutch. In fact, any notion of "the meaning of life" that isn't entirely emotional and subjective is a crutch since that doesn't fit with chaotic evolution.

I think it also explains why the Left are always searching for a "Cause" to push or to be a part of.

The search for significance in a life of emptiness.

Paris Reidhead in his classic sermon “10 Shekels And A Shirt” pointed out that the goal of humanism is the happiness of man.

Of Course Conservatives Are Happier Than Liberals, And Here's Why
    By Daily Wire

In today's episode of "The Michael Knowles Show," Michael talked about a recent University of California study that concluded that conservatives find more meaning and satisfaction in life than liberals. "Of course, it makes sense," said Knowles.

"I am not surprised at all," he said of the study's findings. "You see it all throughout literature, you see it all throughout politics and history. But especially this moment with the rise of the 'nones.' The people who do not affiliate with any religion. Which is taking place almost entirely in the Democratic Party and on the left-wing of the political spectrum.

You are seeing a simultaneous rise, almost one for one, in suicides, in depression. I am not saying that that is a causation, but I am saying that those two things are coinciding, that they are happening at the same time. It's hard to imagine that they don't have some relationship to one another. Of course, it makes sense."

He continued: "If you really believe — as prominent left-wingers are trying to tell us, and has become a sort of mainstream view among a major political party — if you really believe that life has no purpose, you have no inherent dignity, you're a random accidental collection of cells, there's no good, there's no evil, there's no love, there's no joy. It's all just a trick, it's all just an illusion and the only reason, the only momentum you have to keep going is pleasure — you're not going to ultimately be gratified by that.

When the pleasure turns off, then you are going to want to turn off too. It's a horribly dystopia and distressing way to live through life, and conservatives don't have that."
