I don't know which is worse: The visceral
hatred that's being shown toward him, or that which was demonstrated against Prez Obama.
I agree wholeheartedly with Susan: I'm just so sad that our country has come to this awful, hate-filled place.

This is exactly right. And the hypocrisy is breathtaking.
Personally speaking, I'm happy to see President Trump engaging with Kim,
even if Kim never gives up his nuclear weapons. However despicable, Kim
is still a rational actor who knows that a first strike would be the end of his
nation.
But I was also in favor of the Iran deal, and of the rapprochement with Cuba.
"Blessed are the peacemakers", whether they be Democrat or Republican.

What is so much better about the North Korea deal ? And why would Kim Jong-un be any more likely to actually keep an agreement than the Iranian regime is ?
