The same trend as under Obama continues with Trump : the unemployment rate continues to decrease at the same rate and the labor participation rate doesn't improve at all.
US unemployment rate :
In fact, I can't see any difference at all since 2014, based on the charts.
Well the trend has definitely changed direction and is no longer trending down like it did for 8 consecutive years .
Its currently in a lateral consolidation pattern so give it a year or two to get a clearer picture. Keep in mind he has only been in office a little over a year and the effects of his policies like the taxcuts havent even kicked in fully yet .
Let wait a year or two from now to reassess this chart

It hasn't been long, I agree on that. But the downtrend in the labor participation rate didn't last throughout Obama's eight years. According to the chart it ended in late 2013. That is three and a half years before Trump got into office and it would be natural to give credit to the administration at that time for the subsequent 3 1/2 years or to the previous administration - both of which are Obama administrations. The fact also remains that according to the graphs, the trends merely continue with Trump - there is no trend change. So far.

Nope the chart very clearly shows that the low was in 2015 so not sure where you get 2013 from ..so sorrry no credit to Obama
And again the trend has very clearly changed under Trump . Its currenlty a sideways trend not a downward trend

The bad news is that it could. The good news is that very few of the leftist/liberals have guns or are proficient with them if they do happen to have one.

Try to smooth out the graph a bit in your mind and you'll see what I mean. If not then one could as well argue that it has gone further down during the Trump admin, depending on what exact points are involved. Month-to-month trends are uninteresting in this context.

But could it escalate until groups higher up get involved ? Not necessarily to a civil war by declaration but perhaps something that looks a bit like that ?

According to your way of looking at the data, Obama turned it from downward (2009-2015) to upward (2015 to January 2017) then Trump took it back down to even (February 2017 and on). Have it your way...

No need to get all ornery now Mr Colonel
Either we are looking at different charts or one of us needs to see an ophthalmologist but 2013 was neither a bottom, inflexion point or consolidation in any way. The downward trends stayed consistent throu 2016 with 2015 being rock bottom .

I don't see that happening.
I do see both sides getting more and more ugly.
It will be interesting to see if people can learn how to be civil again.
