Does God establish rulers?
I created a new thread to allow focussed discussion on whether or not God puts rulers in place, good or bad.
Moved these posts out of FO's "Goodbye" thread.

I am a Republican but not a Trump republican. He is a horse of a different color. What he is? Anybodies guess.

He's God's choice for this season.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Also the peoples choice, he is a populist, not a party puppet.

Wellll....as much as I dislike our current prime minister up here, and as much as we prayed for him to not win, here he is. I have to believe God put him in place. Man, he's making a mess. Raising taxes and favouring illegal immigrants.

Hi AJ. My guess is that Nikos' point is that under free will doctrine, the people of any nation are free to choose their leader, they are free to choose rightly or wrongly, and God won't necessarily override a wrongful choice. Therefore, the fact that a particular person has been chosen by a group of people to be their leader does not imply that God put him in that position. In other words, the "peoples' choice" is not necessarily "God's choice."

Ah. Ok. Thank you. Didn't know that's part of Calvinism.
I guess that my wording should have been more along the lines of "God allowed him to be placed in power"?
I DO tend to be in agreement with Lance Wallnau and the word that he's Gods wreckin ball, and will be used like God used Cyrus.
