Thread: Tina Campbell of Mary Mary explains why she supports Donald Trump

Tina Campbell is the latest to reveal her support for president Donald Trump.

The member of gospel duo Mary Mary penned a lengthy open letter explaining just why she both forgives and supports the new POTUS, and even goes on to give biblical reasons as to why others should pray for him.

In the open letter posted to her Facebook page, she explained in great detail why she would forgive and support Trump.

"I believe that understanding and compassion [are] absolutely necessary for the progress of all people," she wrote. "So, although I don't always understand or agree with Mr. Donald Trump's politics, perspective, and approach, I believe that the same God that created all of us has deposited greatness inside of him that goes far beyond what many of us have seen and what many of us could imagine."

She continued that instead of complaining about him taking office, people should pray more for him and those who lead the country. She added that though she does not agree with all of his policies, she stands firm on biblical standards that lead her to forgive and support by him.

"I choose to stand with him, and pray for him; because, as a follower of Jesus Christ and a firm believer in the Holy Bible, according to 1 Timothy 2:1-3, I have been commanded to: 'The first thing I want you to do is pray every way you know how... especially for rulers and their governments, to rule well. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live,'" she wrote.

She also asked that others join her in praying for president Trump.

Brave young lady. Hope she won't back down after she's attacked by her Left leaning associates in the Gospel music industry.

I think that some folks are feeling like I am. I didn't say much about supporting Trump until people who were doing so got under attack. Kim Burrell and the attacks on Steve Harvey (who I am no fan of) was the spark that lit the flame in me to speak out more about supporting our new president. It also helped that President Trump did a lot of good things just his first week in office.

For someone like me who held his nose when going into the voting booth and reluctantly voted for him because I felt the alternative was much worse, I am pleasantly surprised by what I am seeing in most cases.
