President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday said the cast of the hit Broadway show “Hamilton” was “rude” to White House teammate Mike Pence and that he deserves an apology for being “harassed.”

“Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing. This should not happen!” Trump tweeted.

“The Theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!” he tweeted minutes later.

Pence, the vice presidential elect and a Republican, was also booed as he attended the show Friday night in New York.

The cast had a message for Pence after the show as he was walking out saying, “We sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir.”

Some audience members took to twitter to report that the show was paused several times as the crowd booed Pence at certain lines of the show...

Every single person who voted for Trump, every single conservative who disagrees with their actions needs to boycott "Hamilton" and any other production these people are involved in. This is how Trump got elected, good hard working folk got tired of liberals whining and trying to shove their views down our throats.

Trust me R828. Many of these people would literally kill him if they could get away with it. I'm sure there were many that were that way about Obama too. Just the lawlessness in people's hearts.

When values erode and are replaced by a social consensus and even narrative then anything is possible. Even citizens of some town being invited to the local concentration camp to kill their own Jew. If the new ill of society becomes anyone who disapproves of ungodliness and therefore reminds people that there is something wrong about their package of perfect liberalism then that could very well become the new "Jew". They will tell themselves that they are doing (at least) the Universe a favor by eradicating "the evil" from society. By way of the authorities or by being a socially acceptable vigilante.

Shawn Bolz's response to the "Hamiliton" controversy" (and it wasn't a "lecture" )

    https://www.facebook.com/ShawnBolz/p...57965909135657

To those of you who didn't read my post on Hamilton Play yesterday I made an error and made a very conflict oriented rebuke to the cast. One of the cast members graciously (with more humility than I had) called me this morning. Here is where I have come to:

New thoughts on Hamilton: I was partially wrong. Taking responsibility.

So today a cast member from Hamilton called me and we had a great talk. He was humble, kind, and an amazing man of faith. He wanted to share why the cast and producer came up with their speech and maybe bridge a gap.

If you watch the initial video when Mike Pence came in he was mostly boo'd by the crowd. The Hamilton team were trying to figure out a way to honor the fact that he was there, set an atmosphere of love, but also use the opportunity to share their heart with him. If you notice they hush the boo'ing and immediately say there will be none of that here.

When they address Pence they were trying to share that they are afraid and were using this to open a dialogue. A lot of racial things specifically have happened in America since Trump has been elected and one thing that no one has heard from him is assurance. Obama had obviously and inherently been sensitive to bring assurance so they are going from tons of assurance to none. They felt it was appropriate to cry out as a community to the elected officials for that assurance in a very honorable way.

What they hadn't considered was how when you put someone on display and it's not a two way conversation, how Pence might have felt for his safety.

I also noted that I am from a military family where it is ingrained to honor those who serve us even in disagreements. My dad was an Air Force colonel and we were trained in respect in a way that may not be common sometimes May not be appropriate for these types of situations. Also I travel around the world and see other governments and have not found a better one even with our problems. I want more out of it to but am grateful for what we have.

They don't know if Pence was offended or not but obviously since Trump was and they are working together, they can only assume.

In hind site I wish trump would have used the opportunity to give them an olive branch. I don't think it was the right format to try and address Pence because of security and the political climate but I don't think the Hamilton cast did it out of disrespectful intentions. As a matter of fact I now understand where they were coming from even more.

We need to heal and more leaders need to be willing to give up offense quickly. Trump needs to get out of battle mode and the rest of the nation can follow. Part of being a father or leader is not being reactionary to everything around you. (I am not asking anyone to receive him as a father but putting responsibility on him to be one).

At the same time we have to respect and honor our leaders. I think the Hamilton crews motives were clean but execution was maybe not the best but the message was correct that we need to bridge a gap that will only become greater if we ignore it or get offended at it on either side. It is a big enough gap.

So I am sorry if I offended friends or friends of friends. I want to be a safe place in love and process. I am learning.

    I'm sure you do Krys

I counter with Dan Rather, a father in journalism (I liked Judge Jeanne's show when she was Judge Jeanne )

Reflecting on Donald Trump's complete overreaction to a statement made at the end of a performance of Broadway's Hamilton: An American Musical, I couldn't help but think – doesn't this man have more important things to worry about? Hasn't the theater long been a stage for political art? And isn't this a man who broke so many norms as a candidate, insulted so many people – individually and as groups – that he now has the nerve to demand an apology when he never gave one himself?

I know there are many who say that this incident shouldn't be blown out of proportion. Yes, when compared to cabinet posts or paying out $25 million in a fraud case against "Trump University," a Tweet maybe might not seem that important. But being president is to have every word you utter scrutinized. And these words are intimidating and unfitting of the office of the presidency. But more importantly, they show a real weakness of vanity and small-mindedness that our enemies abroad will likely look to exploit. I can also imagine that Trump's political foes at home are noticing – once again – how easily he can be rattled.

I imagine this is not the last we will see of these kinds of incidents.

So says the flaming liberal Dan Rather. I wouldn't expect him to say anything different.
