For almost all of this country's existence, power was held in the hands of white folk (white privilege?)...that started to change in earnest during the civil rights movement of the 60's where you saw worse protests then then what we're seeing now...

Then all of a sudden a black man was elected POTUS both in 2004 and 2008, and people lost their minds

An intelligent BLACK MAN, who was not your typical (stereotypical) black man--he was educated, and carried himself with grace and class. Yeah, his ideology scared a lot of ya'll, and many here thought that he would usher in the Apocalypse because he wasn't Christian enough and was going to rip babies from women's wombs personally, have gay orgies in the WH and a lot of other heinous acts.

So here comes 2015, and a narcissistic TV personality/billionaire that played on all the fears of White Christian America announces he's gonna run for president, but nobody really believed he would get as far as he did (maybe except some well known prophetic folks), but he did, continuing to scare the bejeezus out of everybody in the meantime. But his "message" (?) resonated with the forgotten white folk in rural America (especially) and apparently everybody else. People who were resentful that a uppity black man got to stay in the WH for eight years..

But the fact that Donald J Trump WAS WAS WAS a New York Democrat initially was lost on a lot of ya'll. Up until he announced he was running for prez he believed EXACTLY the opposite of what ya'll wanted. He KNEW ya'll were scared of Obama and he played into that. And it worked.

So now we'll see if he keeps his "promises".
This "Intelligent black man" that you speak of is a product of the corrupt political machine of Illinois.

I don't think there is a person here who resents him because of his skin color. In fact, most of us were pulling for Ben Carson if you remember correctly.

What we resent is what he and his party represent.
God hates the shedding of innocent blood.
God desires that LGBT persons would repent and be saved instead of celebrating/embracing their sin.
It is not o.k. for anyone to ride the system for free handouts, carried on the backs of the middle class.
Illegal immigrants are by law CRIMINALS. This is also why the liberals have decided to start calling them "Undocumented immigrants" instead of what they really are: "ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS".

When it comes to accusing folks of racism because they do not like the man or what he stands for, that is misguided at the very least, and dishonest at the very heart of the matter.

There is probably not a person here who would have rather seen Ben Carson as the Republican candidate. But that didn't happen.

What this election boiled down to was that we were either going to enter into a period of self-imposed judgment or a period of mercy with a chance to awaken the virgins and tell them to go light their lamps.

It is the church's fault that our nation has fallen to such a disgusting level.
    Why?
Because we have been more interested in holding down our comfortable pews than doing the Father's will-which is to "Go and make disciples".

If we had actually been making disciples for the past 100 years our nation would look much more glorious than we can imagine.
But now we need to redeem the time and get about the Father's business.

For any follower of Jesus Christ the answer was simple-choose life over death. Our Father hates death and curse and tells us to choose life and blessing.

Sadly, much of the church ignores their Father's heart and skips right over the life or death choice that we were called to make. Just like it was when Pilate held Jesus: "Give us the murderer!!!"

While I can't say that I 100% agree with my Sister, FaithfulOne, I totally understand how she feels.

Maybe it really is a "Black thing," and most of you wouldn't understand...

But, I can't wait until all of the mean, vile, and ugly racist remarks, cartoons, jokes, etc. about Prez Obama and his Family are over and done with, once Trump is in the White House.

I even heard one, very popular radio talk show host say that they will need to FUMIGATE the White House before that "beautiful Trump Family" moves in.

FaithfulOne, you know I love you very much but I really do not understand this cavalier attitude towards abortion and homosexuality here. This is a serious issue and ought to be a game-changer for electing someone be they Black or White. I am Black and unashamed of that fact. But I am foremost a CHRISTIAN. Anyone advocating an agenda where killing unborn children for the sake of convenience is to be paid for by government tax money and whose whole presidency is centered around the celebration of advocating homosexuality has to be rejected regardless of color or party affiliation. Even a racist like Louis Farrakhan agrees with that and has repudiated President Obama on this issue.

Trump certainly was not my first choice. Ben Carson, a BLACK man was. But even with him it had nothing to do with skin color for me. He fit my values more than any other candidate. I personally can't vote based on skin color or making history (first "Black" president, first "woman" president). The shedding of innocent blood matters more to Jesus than that and so does the issue of sexual perversion. I am perplexed as to why many Black Christians have a hard time seeing how important this is. Trump was voted for, not because he was some great someone, but because he comes closest to Christian values. To me (as a Black man, mind you) it is THAT simple.

BTW, one of my FB friends noted that all Black people that voted for Trump were "stupid". One of my own relatives said that those who vote for him were F****** idiots. I can forgive that but I certainly cannot give in to that. Baby murder and sexual perversion has a direct effect on the land whether Christians recognize this Biblical truth or not.

On that I do agree. I have seen some very racist and ugly things said about the Obamas that I couldn't endorse. I remember confronting a bunch of nasty people online once about that and letting them know that, first off, not all Blacks support Obama, and second, their racist attitudes do nothing more than alienate those of us who are Black but against his policies. Instead of understanding I just got severely attacked.

When people concentrate on the skin color more than the policies then we have problems on both sides of the aisle.

    FYI..

Trump also received more black and Hispanic votes than Mitt Romney did four years ago.

Trump claimed 29 percent of the Hispanic vote on Tuesday compared to Romney's 27 percent in 2012. With blacks, exit polls show Trump claimed 8 percent of the vote to the previous Republican nominee's 6 percent.

FO, you believe most people rejected Obama because he was black and voted for Trump because he was white? Is that what your saying?

As hard as it I to believe I rejected him on policy and primarily his opposition to the Born Alive Act..

Do you at least support the policies he took a stand for? That's all that is needed...

ya'll, ya'll, ya'll... I dunno FO, kinda sounds like "you people".

Anyway, Obama would never had been elected if it weren’t for WHITE people, his biggest constituency so me thinks your thinking is a bit flawed.

Oh please STOP IT--the disingenuous "abortion/homosexuality/skin color" narrative. Some of YA'LL have gotten away with that for too long.

Trump spoke what ya'll wanted to hear. It wasn't about him being "conservative", pro-life, "christian", none of that. Students are being taunted and attacked in school by the children of Trumpsters, about the supposed "wall", Muslim US citizens out of the country right now are worried that they will not be allowed back in, people are legitimately SCARED right now that he will make life hell for a good portion of this country's citizens. The onus is on HIM to clarify what he had said during the campaign--did he REALLY mean a lot of things he said, or did he say those things to get elected??

LOL, that is true for the most part.

On the opposite end of that Mrs. Clinton said a lot of things I did not want to hear, like Christians are going to have to change their views regarding homosexuality and abortion.

I think we usually vote for people based on the fact that people say what we want to hear. I can't vote for anyone based on them saying the exact opposite of what I want to hear.
