Washington (CNN)New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie -- a former Donald Trump rival turned top defender -- is being vetted as a possible running mate for the presumptive Republican nominee, a source confirmed to CNN on Thursday.
Christie has received the official paperwork for the vetting process, according to a source with knowledge of the process.
Trump has said he intends to announce his vice presidential nominee at the Republican National Convention in July in Cleveland.
The New York Times was first to report Christie's vetting.

Why? they seem suited for each other..they both speak their minds (not PC)...Not sure about Christie's foreign policy expertise tho..
I really don't think Trump would pick somebody from the so-called establishment (is Christie considered "establishment"?)

I think of Christie as establishment. One problem with him is that we're already going to have one loudmouth, brash, unattractive candidate on the ticket. We certainly don't another. We need someone with more conservative credentials too. Christie is, I believe, in the RINO class. Trump needs a SOLID conservative running mate.

That would be a wrong move. But I wouldn't be surprised.

I'd be willing to bet Ben Carson gets the bid.

I like Carson, but he needs to attract swing voters. What about Allen West? That makes my heart beat bit faster.

Trump needs someone with brains. Not someone who is a smart surgeon but someone who knows government and governing.

This is not a good idea
I have no idea who to recommend. Anyone? Nancy Pelosi?
