I think the way he talked about DeSantis exposes Trumps character and his vision: King Trump first

In a campaign that rivals any current presidential election for insults and rancor, John Adams defeated Thomas Jefferson on this day in the 1796 election, in a race that changed American politics forever.
The bitterness and rivalries seen in the partisan 1796 campaign got worse in the 1800 rematch between Adams and Jefferson. At one point in that race, Jefferson's supporter, notorious pamphleteer James Calendar, claimed that
Adams was a hermaphrodite, while Adams' people said Jefferson would openly promote prostitution, incest, and adultery.

It was a hoot last night when Chris Christie predicted that Trump would say he was the reason for the winners he backed, but he wasn't responsible for the losers he backed. About an hour later Trump said that very thing (according to Christie, weighing in again).

We are ALL being groomed to be numb and unexcited about elections. It's part of the wearing down taking place.

In context, your wording "Christie" and "weighing in" was most humorous.
