Seth Rogen ripped for downplaying crime in Los Angeles as life in 'big city'

    Talk about woke.
    ____________

Seth Rogen is getting roasted online for chiming in on a YouTube star's car being burglarized in Los Angeles, saying that's life in the "big city."

The Canadian star, 39, tweeted Wednesday in response to YouTuber Casey Neistat, who also took to social media saying his cars "got robbed" earlier that morning, calling LA a "crime riddled 3rd world sh-thole."

"Dude I've lived here for over 20 years," Rogen replied. "You're nuts haha. It's lovely here. Don't leave anything valuable in it. It's called living in a big city."

But Neistat, who has 2 million followers, pressed on, saying he still felt "violated" while asking if he could be upset about the unfortunate situation.

"You can be mad but I guess I don't personally view my car as an extension of myself and I've never felt violated any of the 15 or so times my car was broken in to," Rogen responded in a follow-up post. "Once a guy accidentally left a cool knife in my car so if it keeps happening you might get a little treat."

Some took the "Knocked Up" actor to task for his "bad take" – insisting that living in a big city like LA shouldn't be used to downplay crime.

"I wish I could live such a carefree existence," one critic replied.

"Imagine not being rich and someone breaking into your car," another comment read. "Then imagine celebrities saying it's not a big deal."

One detractor, meanwhile, called Rogen — who is worth roughly $80 million, according to CelebrityNetWorth.com – the "whitest privilege dude" for his unsolicited take.

"Of course you think it's lovely," another reply to Rogen read. "You moved [there] as a teenager and then almost immediately became rich and famous."

Another responded that blasted Rogen as an "insufferable twit" had been liked more 1,700 times.

"Only a person of low character such as yourself would smugly dismiss people's (very valid) concerns about the current state of crime & public safety in Los Angeles," attorney Matt Bilinsky tweeted.

Rogen wrapped up his commentary to his 9.2 million followers late Wednesday, responding to the torrent of detractors who continued to mock him for his initial tweet on the matter.

"A lot of people come at me and talk sh-t on Twitter hoping I'll engage with them publicly and give them attention, but instead I DM them and tell them to go f-ck themselves privately," Rogen tweeted. "It's a lot more fun."

"Not as much fun as it was for me I assure you," Bilinsky replied, complete with a screenshot of direct messages purportedly sent to him by Rogen.

"Hey man, no clue who you are but I came across this and I kindly invite you to go f-ck yourself," Rogen wrote. "Haha now I'm reading your IG posts and I see who you are."

"It appears the quality of your social media trolling has mirrored the path of your comedy career," Bilinsky replied. "Steep and embarrassing decline."

Neistat, 40, who has some 12.4 million subscribers on YouTube, where his content has been viewed more than 3 billion times. He previously co-founded the multimedia company Beme, which was acquired by CNN in 2017 for a reported $25 million on his appeal to bring in millennials. But left CNN less than a year later in 2018, citing creative conflicts with the network.
