Thread: Trump 2024

I guess it's asking too much to want a conservative man or woman who displays Christian virtues of humility, reverence, and kindness AND is faithful to his or her marriage partner.

I think at some point Christians who are willing to compromise on these virtues just to have their man or woman in office will live to regret it. When we conservatives compromise on our values just to have someone who agrees with our positions, we're making a tragic mistake. Politics is not the answer anyway. We may elect a super conservative candidate and still continue our downhill plunge. Having a conservative in office will not bring about revival. In fact, the darker the culture, perhaps the closer we are to real revival.

The difference is that Trump repented and got born again. Clinton and his wife continued their corruption and we've lost count of the dead bodies. It's not about being upset over the President's adultery, Clintons adultery was committed in the White House. And it's not the first time good Presidents committed adultery. It's no worse sin than thievery, lying, or murder in God's eyes. He uses flawed people because He has no choice!

And I won't even go into George H.W.'s crimes and misdemeanors.

Trump on God: 'I Don't Like to Have to Ask for Forgiveness'

I'm not aware of his repentance. Can you offer a link?

Don't need to. The Christian ministers that served him during his Presidency confirmed it, and have related that he is still a baby Christian, that's good enough for me. I did hear him say in an interview that he made "bad choices, and has changed."

The main issue for me is, that whatever his faults, he is the best President in my lifetime. America prospered and gained the respect and reverence of our enemies, also we gained new allies around the globe.

When Trump stood up against the demonic UN, I gained more respect for him as a leader.

Personality and flaws aside, he's the best leader that America has had in a hundred years, or more.

Not one single President in my lifetime has accomplished and been the kind of strong leader Trump is. Our enemies feared him, and Israel was relieved that they finally had a true ally, one who didn't lie to their face and kept his promises.

No other President could have withstood the constant public verbal attacks and pure hatred not only against himself (on barely 4-5 hours of sleep each day, and not taking a salary, donating it to charities), but also against his wife and children on a daily basis. The mocking and snubbing of Melania was particularly disgusting.

I don't know how you can dismiss his accomplishments based merely on his personal flaws.

Can you give me a example of new allies?

The problem with that line of thinking is that we are not voting in a pastor. We are voting in the leader of the free world.

Would we prefer that he also be a super Christian? For sure! But I am not judging him on his Christian behavior. That is not my place. Jesus said when you do that you are judging another Man's servant (His!). It is my place to judge what makes a good president and what does not. That way I can vote appropriately. Satan has totally taken over the Democratic Party and is also working on the Republicans wherever he can get a foothold. He wants to destroy America.

I get that. But some of us conservatives believe that to make a good president, the person must be honest, must not tell lies, must show discretion (not hot-tempered), and must be capable of appointing good men and women and then letting them do their job. Even in business one way of knowing if a person is a good leader is by how much turnover they have in employees. On that score alone, Trump fails. He micro-manages and does so carelessly.

Exactly how I was going to reply. I was just going to say 'bingo' though.

I'm not weighing in on whether he is born again or not. I don't know. But that article was in Jan. 2016 months before he was even elected. He has had tons of evangelical influence since he became president. And tons of private prayer and even hands being laid on him with prayer, etc. A lot can change in 5 years as you know.
