Florida Sues the CDC Over COVID Power Grab...

On Thursday, Florida Governor Robert DeSantis sued the Biden administration, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for locking down the cruise industry.

In his state, the cruise industry is one of the main sources of jobs and tourism. Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the CDC has not allowed cruises out of Florida to resume sailing, as cruise ships worldwide were tied to several COVID-19 outbreaks.

During a press conference at the Port of Miami, the governor announced, "On behalf of the tens of thousands of Floridians whose livelihoods depend on the viability of an open cruise industry, today Florida's fighting back."

"We don't believe the federal government has the right to mothball a major industry for over a year, based on very little evidence and very little data," he added.

In just the first 6 months of the pandemic, "Florida lost $3.2 billion from the cruise industry shutdown, including almost 50,000 jobs paying $2.3 billion in wages."

As the days pass, more and more Americans criticize the CDC for becoming increasingly involved in politics instead of simply finding the best way to get rid of the virus.

In fact, Biden's appointed director, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, recently released a statement on Twitter saying that racism is a "serious public health threat" that "affects the health of our entire nation."

With the CDC getting more and more involved in politics, DeSantis decided that the only way for his state to fight back against the abuse of power is through the courts. With this in mind, DeSantis sued the Biden administration and agencies involved, demanding that the cruising industry in Florida "reopen immediately."
