    Hope for Revival Here

I'm reading this right now--a bio of Leonard Ravenhill. Wow, is it inspiring. It makes me more optimistic about revival...IF we will pray.

    What a good book!

    http://www.charismanews.com/opinion/...onguesSpeaking of prayer,

The Lord spoke to me this morning reminding me there is a significant difference in consistent prayer and routine prayer...it was extremely challenging to me and also reminded me of the post fuego shared of the man who was very busy and successful in ministry but realized the Lord was calling him to pray in tongues with fervency and consistency. (my interpretation, not his words).

I personally believe the practice of routine (different from consistency) in the disciplines of prayer and scripture meditations is the pitfall of passivity and increasing unbelief...which leads the once spiritual back to carnal thinking and winking at sin...

" Characterized by a deep life of prayer, passionate evangelistic zeal and a powerful preaching gift, .."

YEP..as long as we are satisfied with the results of our prayer life we will not change our prayer life..

    Thank you for sharing.
Yes we do need revival but so many Christians are comfortable and do not stir themselves to call on God.
2 Chronicles 7:14-- if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Prayer is still the key to revival.

It is shocking that so many Christians do not know how to pray. They cannot form a short public prayer.

Let's remember... God calls things that be not, as though they were (Romans 4:17).

So, rather than begging for revival, why not go forward praising the Lord for this wonderful revival He has given us and act accordingly telling others in your area that the Lord has provided salvation asking folks "have ya heard the good news yet" to which they will rely, what good news... there ya go, open door - speak!

Our personal salvation is done this way... we confess Jesus as Lord and forsake our sin and we say "I'm saved, praise God!"

How many of you confessed Jesus as Lord and said "well, I'm believing and praying for salvation"... "maybe someday... when I feel something or see something, I'll believe I'm saved"

Sounds like we can pray away the great tribulation and the great falling away God's Word speaks of... 2 Chronicles 7:14 does not mean the world is not still going descend into great tribulation

    Matthew 24:21-22
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved

Of course we continue to pray for the lost and witness, but let's not go all NAR and think the majority of the world is going to get saved cause they aren't. (see Matthew 7:13,14)

I knew I could count on you, Farm Truck, to shoot down even the idea of revival. I don't think there's any subject you don't have a negative opinion on.

Farm Truck expects at least someone here to be influenced by his posts. By now people are likely to run in the other direction so his best strategy now would be to say the opposite of what he wants them to embrace. Just don't be too confusing Farm Truck, people tend to figure that one out.

So you deny that God's Word teaches that the world is going to experience the great tribulation?

Are you claiming Jesus lied in Matthew 24:21-22... taking Jesus Christ at His Word is negative???

    He said that...

You fail to realize that warning of impending danger is good news in that it gives us a heads up of what's coming so we can make plans to avoid it and help others become aware so they too can avoid it.

Actually, using end times events is one of the few ways one can "prove" God's Word is true when we show people that the Bible tells of events in advance such as Israel becoming a nation again.
