Oh yeah, I forgot about that ^ - And I vaguely recall a man who came around selling Watkins Vanilla Products.
Anyone else remember the door-to-door Encyclopedia salesman?

Who could forget Amway? My mom tried that in the early 60's. I can still remember her starter kit.

Only things like Fuller Brush, Amway, Avon, Watkins but they were usually your neighbors as well.
I remember when mom started buying "hair rinse" from Avon! How cool was it to get the tangles out of our long hair after having a bath! One capfull in a glass of water, pour on and rinse again. Now we have so many hair products available, I can stand in the aisle for a half an hour, reading bottles and walk away with nothing. I'll still slip from time to time and call conditioner "hair rinse." Golly, how old am I?
Also, very occasionally vacuums, encyclopedias, aerial farm photographs.
