In the 2 hours video I watched yesterday there was a prophet who said that the prophets should not apologise for being wrong. He then goes on to say how he said someone would lead many to the Lord yet the guy was killed in an accident months afterwards. When asked if he would apologise to the family he said "no" because he was right and the devil killed the person because of what he would do.

So the prophet had two options; repent for being wrong or claim it was God who was wrong. Does the answer remind you of Genesis 3?

And the person who believes this prophet, he too has two options; believe the prophet when he says God is wrong or believe that God is always right and repent. Most won't repent because to do so would be to admit that they're wrong and people don't like to do that.

Someone (especially the prophets) will say that they're human and make mistakes. But hundreds making the same mistakes, getting something major wrong and completely missing all the things in the middle like Covid and riots and impeachments etc? And it's not like these guys are new at it, they've been at it for years and there have been books on how to hear God around since before them. They are without excuse.

One must not despise prophesy. But firstly one must ensure that it is prophesy. In the video we also saw a woman say over Pres Trump something she said was from the Lord. The words? "This is my beloved son, believe him". Yep, words the Father spoke from Heaven over Jesus a woman prophet applied to Pres Trump. And people believe these people are prophets? They're deceived.
How long before you are able to put this all behind you?

    No surprise here .

Those of us who are big unapologetic proponents of the much maligned prosperity Gospel have long believed that Christians should be the 1 percent and should be the ones sitting at and possessing the City Gates but hey ... we were shouted down

    Maybe one last thing.

Do not quench the Spirit, do not utterly reject prophecies, but examine everything; hold firmly to that which is good, abstain from every form of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 NASB - Do not quench the Spirit, do not - Bible Gateway)

We are early Church days here, pre the Bible, and so Apostles and Prophets would go around instructing the Church. But in 26 of the 27 books of the NT there's warnings about false prophets/teachers and apparently behind v19 is that the Thessalonians had had a gut full of false prophets so they wanted to chuck out all prophesy (perhaps similar to someone when the love of their life has let them down and they don't want to ever love again).

Paul says, No, examine everything, if it's good keep it, if it's evil keep away from it.

Is the current Church like the Thessalonians, grieving over false prophets? Well when one of the prophets who has been in the ministry for over 40 years still gets things 100% wrong, and when another who claims to have been a seer at the age of 4 before seeing Jesus enter her, who claims to visit heaven most days, who apparently says that "the Father escorted her via time travel to the very occasion when Jesus was crucified; she says she was right there at the cross of Calvary. Not only that, she was there at the resurrection" yet also gets things 100% wrong, are considered to be prophets by the Church and as long as they say the things the Church wants to hear their 100% inaccuracy is glossed over and excused, then it doesn't seem much like the Thessalonians.

Just who despises prophesy FireBrand? The one who wants to hear exactly what God is saying, or the one who is willing to hear anything that someone says is from God, not caring if it is right or wrong, as long as it tickles the ears?

Nikos seems to think that Jesus will soon come to spirit the Church away. Jesus is looking for a spotless bride, so maybe a few centuries of discipline like between the start of the RCC and the Reformation is on the table.

Anyway I'll try be quiet, but I'll put it behind me when the Church repents.
