California and Christianity
Can someone update the real christian influence in California.
I know that there are many mega churches and believers who are well known but California for years is left leaning and liberal laws abound.
Are the real believers that much of a minority?

We have 2 California's, inland and coastal.
Inland Ca is like the Bible Belt of Ca.
Coastal is where the wealthy elites, Hollywood types, Silicon Valley tech people, movie stars & famous people including Al Gore, Oprah, Pelosi etc.
Inland people are ranchers, farmers, blue collar, middle income people.
13 million Hispanics here and most of them are Christian with strong family values. They are the most faithful to church IMO. Wealthy whites are the least.
We have a massive Filipino & Korean community (1 million) and they are mostly Christian.

Exactly. That is the American design, states and counties were designed to be largely free from federal rule. The way federal policies come to the state is via money and funding ... you want lunch money? Here is your curriculum. Nationwide speed limit? Tied to funding for roads and bridges..

Not quite that far. They are 3-4hrs north of Sacramento. I was a little over an hour north. I do need to get up there sometime. It's about a 5hr drive I think.

I think you'd be able to observe similar differences in many of our states.
For example, in the 2020 election, New York State as a whole went strongly for Biden, but there were huge differences between regions. In Manhattan, the vote was 77% for Biden, but in Allegany Count (on western side of state at border with PA), the vote was 68% for Trump. A Manhattanite who was transported to Allegany would think he was on a different planet, and vice versa.

I think NY & CA especially share a stark contrast. The entire circumference of the SF Metro pop.is 8.7 million. Inland and the northern area will never stand a chance. That's why they want to break off and create a new state called Jefferson.
I find getting out of the metro refreshing. The people actually speak and say hello. In general, the people (similar to NY) are cold. They(most)will not make eye contact and are very short with each other. There's a strong attitude of intellectual elitism. It's all about what university you attended, what you drive, your zip code, etc etc. Very superficial. But at the same time, I can sense a real sadness and loneliness deep inside.
