Thread: Your thoughts on Pence

I can't imagine that people involved in dark deeds would pass around info in such an obvious manner in front of the whole world.

I agree. We have no idea of the complications and things that are happening behind the scenes. And there will never be anyway of knowing. We have to trust leaders at some point. In the same way, I don't go and question my pastors on things they do - I know they spend hours in prayer and seeking the Lord, and they have given their lives for the church. They know Jesus is head of the church, and all life flows through Him. Unless I feel really off in my spirit, I don't question them. And if I do approach them it is with a "help me understand" attitude, not one of superiority.

I think Pence is more swamp vs. "of the people", that's not to say he isn't saved, etc. Bush is a fine example of a brother who was a horrible President, I put Pence more in that corner (establishment) than MAGA.

I agree but wonder at this moment in history can anyone remain in that 'neutral' place? As we look at the corrupt left policies the Dem party has migrated to how many of the centrists bailed? I do not think the spiritual battle will allow anyone to remain neutral.

I believe he did have the constitutional authority to grant the request of some states for the return of their electors or at least to send them into an investigative committee as was done before. In neither of these would he be calling the election....For me the jury is still out as to why he did not. To me Pence is a peace keeper who will compromise for the 'sake of peace'. The left allows no one to remain neutral. Perhaps that was revealed in her demand letter and his response.

I think if you look at the example of Eric Swallwell, who was approached and compromised by Chinese agents very early in his career you will see the blueprint for political success. In Swallwells' case it was the Chinese who got a hold of him when he was a city council member in California. They are all groomed/compromised early and often by corrupt forces.

Why is Trump the only politician that cared about the people?

As Swalwell rose in the ranks, Fang became an even bigger supporter. She helped fundraise for his 2014 campaign, Axios reports. And she suggested his office hire an intern, which it did.

What we know about how Swalwell and Fang interacted on substance: Axios reports that U.S. officials don't think Fang ever got classified information as she cozied up to politicians, including from Swalwell. He is not accused of any wrongdoing. After U.S. intelligence officials briefed him in 2015 on their concerns about Fang, he cut off ties with her. Swalwell said in a statement to Axios this week that he provided information to the FBI about her and that he hasn't interacted with her in six years. Fang has left the country.

We also know that top members of Congress from both parties got briefed by intelligence officials in 2015 about suspected Chinese spies trying to infiltrate Congress.

What we think China may have gotten out of this: We don't know. Even if spies don't get access to the nation's secrets, they can still gather information on politicians that could be useful. It's a way to try to get leverage on a politician or government official and potentially use that information against them. (That's why huge debts or foreign ties or even clandestine affairs are reasons government officials are denied security clearances.)

Axios reports that Fang even engaged in romantic or sexual relationships with two Midwestern mayors. (Axios did not name these officials and made no such allegations about other politicians it tied to Fang.)

Why do you consider Pence part of the swamp?

He's been in it for 30 years.

Well he was in congress for 16 years and has been VP for 4 years, but I don't think that makes him part of the swamp per se. Rand Paul has been in the senate for 10 years but I wouldn't consider him part of the swamp. I would say that he's one of the few who are fighting against it. To me the swamp is the Washington establishment that is filled with corruption and promotes globalism. I don't think that applies to Pence.

2022 and 2024 will be interesting for the GOP, it will be MAGA vs. Swamp. We'll see.
