Book: Peter Peter Loves His Pink Pants (Children's book)

An Adelaide mother has been left heartbroken after her children's book, Peter Peter Loves His Pink Pants, was targeted by Christian lobby groups.

    . . .

The book - centred on a boy named Peter who loves to dance, play with dolls and wear pink pants - aims to celebrate diversity and children's differences.

    . . .

La Pia says she felt sick by the abuse the book had received and that she was shocked such a concept would draw criticism.

    . . .

"Didn't think in this day and age my book would be highly offensive," she said.

The problem is that this illustrates how Christians often expect the world to conform to our understanding of sins--in this case, homosexuality. This sort of thing is what the world does at an increasing rate as we Christians no longer have as large an influence as we used to. The solution isn't to get all riled up about the world acting like the world. The solution is to put forth POSITIVE responses to the evils of the world which they can either take or reject. Simply blasting or boycotting only confirms what the world thinks of us--as "haters." Too many Christians find it easier to condemn the world rather than learn a loving but firm response to sin. After all, we who were saved from our sin SHOULD understand the deceitfulness of sin. I hope this woman has some Christian friends who are praying for her and witnessing (without expressing vitriol).

Without seeing every comment we really don't know if there was any personal vitriol or more a disgust with the abuse of a child by his mother
Many secular parents whine and complain if you dare disagree with them especially about LGBTQ.
Even gentle disagreement is seen as abuse by LGBTQ....you are shamed as hateful and intolerant

Apart from prayer what can believers really do that is positive???? Even if she had christian friends she is determined to 'preach' her message.
The christian friends are the ones who can remain close and still show love.
