Charles Roat, secretary of the Chicago Motor Club, came through Greeley this week, mapping the route from Chicago to Los Angeles. It will be the main route for the Chicago club members to follow when driving to the west coast.

In the Sligo area, a 15-year-old boy was badly injured when his horse threw him into a barbed-wire fence. The boy was cut on his stomach and legs, and had to walk a mile to his home, leaving a trail of blood.

On the island of Martinique in France, three judges were voted for in a recent election. The problem was that they received 5,000 votes from dead men. The election is under investigation.

A New York grand jury has begun an investigation of the 1919 World Series. It appears that some of the Chicago White Sox may have deliberately lost the series to Cincinnati. The series had the White Sox as a top favorite, but it is now suspected that some of the White Sox were paid to throw the games.

Presidential candidate James Cox made a campaign stop in Greeley yesterday at the train depot. Speaking from the platform of the caboose, Cox addressed about 1,200 voters. He verbally attacked newspapers in the west "which are trying to destroy our campaign."

Nels Olaf Peterson, 60, of Platteville dropped dead Tuesday while he was cranking his auto to get it started. He will be buried in the Platteville Cemetery with the Odd Fellows Club officiating.

A Salamagundi Party will be held this week at the Methodist Church. That means every imaginable indoor game will be played. (By the way, "Salamagundi" is a type of meat-and-vegetable stew.)

The Auto Equipment Co. has filed a lawsuit in Greeley courts against Lowry & McCarty Garage. The auto company is suing for $88.39 that they claim the garage owes them.

Windsor men Del Middleton and G.I Richards are leaving this week for Moffat County to begin the deer hunting season. From the amount of ammunition they are taking, they should return with enough deer meat to supply the whole town. We hope so.

The sheriff is trying to locate a bank clerk from Eaton who disappeared Thursday as he left for lunch. At the same time he disappeared, $350 in Liberty Bonds was reported missing from the bank.

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind, having the understanding darkened...
    (Ephesians 4:17-18)

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly...
    (Psalm 1)
