John MacArthur: "Welcome to the Grace Community Church Peaceful Protest"

John MacArthur, the pastor of Grace Community Church, was welcomed with cheers after he made a rather unusual announcement at the start of Sunday services.

"I'm so happy to welcome you to the Grace Community Church peaceful protest," Dr. MacArthur said.

How many others have as much guts as he has?

I disagree with MacArthur on this. A shepherd looks after the sheep God has entrusted to him. MacArthur seems to think that exposing his flock to a disease that can result in death is no big deal. The prohibition--which needs to be applied equally to all establishments, not just churches--is reasonable in my opinion. It's very likely that some of his flock are going to be infected and some may die. That's not caring for the sheep, it's irresponsible. I would feel differently if his church couldn't assemble due to persecution, but this is health related. The California government did not invent this pandemic. This just reeks of having a chip on his shoulder, daring the authorities to knock it off.
