Huge Explosion Rocks Beirut
A massive explosion shook*Beirut on Tuesday, killing at least 60 people and injuring thousands of others while flattening much of the port, damaging buildings across the capital, and sending a giant mushroom cloud into the sky.
The cause of the explosion remains unclear.*The Lebanese Red Cross tweeted that more than 30 teams were responding to the scene of the blast via ambulances.
The health minister said at least 60 people were killed and over 3,000 were injured.

You can see the two sources. First, the fireworks factory and second, the biggie. Nitrates storage next door was a perfect recipe for a large scale "farmers bomb". Those that recall the Fed building in KC back in '95 will understand and that one was just a van load.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. The bombers always use those nitrates and they are huge explosions. And I thought about the van too. That took off the whole front of that building.

Makes you wonder who the rocket scientist was that thought it would be a good idea to store the nitrate next to fireworks?
