So since this whole COVID stuff started, my siblings and I have been reading the bible together. We started in John, and we would share bits and pieces of scripture that stood out to us, and held each other accountable to stay in the word. So instead of seeing each other in person, we found a new way to connect. Which has been great so far.
Now we are on Acts. And as you know, we can all follow those rabbit trails sometimes that take us away from our original goal or purpose. And here was mine. I am sure it has been brought up before. My siblings didn't want to delve too deeply into this. So I would like some insight please.
17" 'In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21 And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved.'
my focus was on the first verse.. IN THE LAST DAYS, but Paul was talking about his current situation. Obviously they were not part of the last days.
Can some one help me understand or enlighten me why Paul was thinking to quote that verse as though to say, they (Paul/Disciples) were part of the last days.
Thank you in advance.
PS I am not sure I want to delve into a discussion about end times and prophecy, but that is the "rabbit hole".
