This isn't the title of an article but something I'm posting myself. I'm just doing to reference a few stories and let you read them and watch the videos if you want. It would become a long post if I posted everything here. I'm just going to back up what I'm saying with a few links and copy and pastes and you can read the rest if you want.
Here is the main support for what I am saying:
NFL, NBA stars speak out on social media against Drew Brees
He was condemned by many including LeBron James (and many, many, others) after "he reiterated his stance on how he will "never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America" during an interview with Yahoo Finance."
Basically he just doesn't agree with players taking a knee during the National Anthem. He sees it as disrespect of the American flag. Fine. That's his opinion. But not fine. Even his own teammate Malcom Jenkins said on Instagram, but later deleted, ""Our communities are under siege and we need help," Jenkins said in one of the videos on Instagram. "And what you're telling us is don't ask for help that way, ask for it a different way. I can't listen to it when you ask that way. We're done asking, Drew. And people who share your sentiments, who express those, and push them throughout the world, the airwaves, are the problem."
""And it's unfortunate because I considered you a friend. I looked up to you. You're somebody who I had a great deal of respect for. But sometimes you should shut the f--- up."
So here is Brees just stating his opinion like everybody else is, but his opinion doesn't count because it doesn't agree with the basic stance of liberals, blacks, the 'woke', etc, at this time. In other words, if anyone speaks a dissenting opinion, then any dialog is shut down with a relentless attack on social media and the news by anyone who dares to disagree.
Now it doesn't really bother me per se to have someone kneel during the national anthem. What I object to is that everyone seems to think it is a 'right' while you're on the job. That is their workplace. Now I guess they do have a 'right' to do it at their job, but the owners of the teams have a right to deal with it as they see fit if it affects their bottom line without being called racist, etc. But that's the buzzword for anything that isn't agreed with. You try going to work one day and protesting and see how it comes out. Yeah, you have a right, but you're not going to have a job. And it has nothing to do with what you're protesting, race, but that you're disrupting work and the bottom line.
I've seen this on TV programs to like ESPN, etc. where they are saying the same thing and basically shaming everyone into giving their public support for what is going on or you will be shamed and denigrated. I can even see this happening with my Instagram and fb accounts, churches, ministers, friends, people I never thought would do #blackouttuesday and post just a black square in support of what is happening with no mention of criticizing the riots. looting, and violence.
Here is a tweet by Steve Kerr, head coach of the Warriors basketball team, to show how blind everyone is to what is actually happening:
"The younger generation coming up is more diverse, more tolerant, & more informed than any generation before them. They are smart, energized, connected and ready to build a country and society where EVERYONE feels safe and protected by the institutions of our democracy. They have..."
More diverse and more TOLERANT? They're the least tolerant generation that has ever come along, and what is happening is the proof. If you don't agree with what they say they will shut you down on the college campuses and silence your voice if they don't agree with you. Even more moderate liberals have felt the heat when they try to be reasonable.
But Brees who is basically beloved in the sports world (except for us Falcon fans ) was swiftly condemned all across the board by all the 'woke' people. He's not allowed to have an opinion that differs. Things are being attached to race that aren't racial at all. But making it racial is what gets the outcry.
As a example of a liberal even being targeted, look what happened to Ellen DeGeneres:
Ellen DeGeneres criticized for deleted tweet about protests saying 'people of color'
You can read at the link but basically she was widely criticized because she said "people of color" instead of "black".
"Like so many of you, I am angry and I am sad," DeGeneres wrote, according to screenshots. "People of color in this country have faced injustice for far too long. For things to change, things must change. We must commit ourselves to this change with conviction and love."
"Although the message was clearly designed to foster unity, Ellen's followers were quick to deride her comments. Some specifically took issue with her use of the phrase "people of color" given that the current moment is focused on the black community in America."
"Black people Ellen not people of color. #BlackLivesMatter," one user wrote.
"Not people of color. George Floyd was black. Why are being so cautious? Serious ?" another user wrote.
"say black and open your purse," another user noted.
So even a left/liberal lesbian felt the backlash.
Also, just the ignoring of the violence and rioting. Anderson Copper had the gall to say about President Trump, "Who's the thug here?" when Trump threatened to use military force. Let's see, there's rioting, looting, killing, burning, violence, etc, and Trump is the 'thug' because he actually wants to stop it by whatever means are needed. All the liberal press and politicians are turning a blind eye to the violence. Never seen anything like it.
I also was reading an article about Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson when he was being interviewed, and he said this:
Wilson called it "a shame" that people aren't being allowed to peacefully protest.
Who is not being allowed to peacefully protest? You can really say this when what is trying to be quelled is the violence and rioting?
Anyway, these are just a few example of an 'dialogue' you're not going to win if you have another opinion about certain things.
What happened was a tragedy, and it needs to be dealt with justly. I can't imagine the pain that many blacks feel over this. I"m old and white and I've never experienced racial discrimination personally that I can remember. I can't imagine what it is like being black and having prejudice against you just because of skin color. But there is still right and wrong, righteousness and justice, but what's happening now ain't it.
The funny thing is, the one person I really see decrying the violence, etc, is a black man that goes to my church by the name of Ralph. He's an awesome loving brother in Christ and he posts frequently on how the violence and rioting isn't the answer while all the other 'woke' people never say a word about it.
Bethel Redding posted this on their Instagram among other posts about the same thing on #blackouttuesday:
This is a great quote from MLK. The irony is that everyone that did something like this on their feeds were silent about the rioting and violence. That doesn't 'matter' too? And if you do both, try and support what's going on but also state the other side, you're still rejected as racist. I've seen it in comments on some of the feeds that did it.
The world has gone crazy. Go read AJ's post from Jeremiah Johnson and it explains clearly what is happening.
An urgent prophetic alert and warning
