    That's for YOU to decide.
I know exactly how I'd talk about it John, but then I don't mince words. I call a spade a spade.

However as A.J. asked us to be careful with what we say I'm still asking "How do we (the Church) talk about this grievous sin without sugar coating it, without excusing it, without saying exactly what it is?"

Well, the biblical principle is to focus on the remedy, Christ and Him crucified, but you can focus on sin if you want to. Let us know how many souls get swept into the kingdom.

And why was Christ crucified? To take away the sin of the world. How is sin dealt with?

    • Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you
    • Therefore repent and return
    • Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours
    • God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent,
    • declaring both to those of Damascus first, and also at Jerusalem and then throughout all the region of Judea, and even to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God
    • Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent
    • Therefore repent
    • unless they repent
    • So remember what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent.
    • therefore be zealous and repent.

But you have to know what to repent of do you not?

So "How do we (the Church) talk about this particular grievous sin in a way that people will recognise the need to repent, but without sugar coating it, without excusing it, without saying exactly what it is?"

Is "not mincing words" a fruit of the Spirit? Speaking the truth in love doesn't necessarily mean you have to sugar coat it. I'm just saying we need to let our firm words be tempered by the Holy Spirit.

So "How do we (the Church) talk about this particular grievous sin in a way that people will recognise the need to repent, but without sugar coating it, without excusing it, without saying exactly what it is?"
I think even the hardest of hearts knows inside the seriousness of this act.

There is a difference between "abortion is murder" and "you are a murderer." Present the evidence and let Holy Spirit bring conviction of sin and repentance. Guilt, shame and condemnation are from the enemy and lead to destruction of the person. Holy Spirit conviction brings life and healing.

... and I'm not going to enter into a circular debate on this.
