At my last Steakhouse Investment Seminar Circuit dinner/meeting, the speaker's focus was on Estate Planning. Yes, probate is typically a pain and can be a nightmare, as many can attest. Inaddition, simple wills are often no longer adequate - Living Trusts are often a better way to go, depending on situation.
But in the last few years, we learned that laws have changed alot, partially due to legal wranglings and messy challenges by relatives to wills. And get this: Now there are all kinds of will add-ons and provisos available, such as the "Bad Son-in-Law" add-on.
The takeaway was, even if you did your will a few years ago, it's worth reviewing and considering an update.
