As I also said 'I am reminded of the Berenans who "were more noble-minded ... for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so."'

It has been said, and there is agreement to "
After listening to her testimony, I don't think there's any doubt about whether she's a real Christian". But that is irrelevant. I'm a Christian but I lie, and cheat, and intentionally rebel against God, and lots of other sins, daily. What is important is "examining the Scriptures ... to see whether these things were so" and although I've asked no one seems to have done that.

Is this "sound doctrine" or "ear tickling" (
    2 Timothy 4:3) feugo?

Now such things are not new and here's something I was told as a young Roman Catholic and I believed because, well because the Nuns told me, it sounded good, and I knew no better.

The following story is described thus:

    "
It is certainly not a treatise on theology but, imperfections aside, it reflects how much Our Mother strives to help us reach out to Jesus — even when it is so hard for us to persevere in virtue."

    The Story:

(Closing remark from the article) "It is no wonder that when we ourselves close the doors of Paradise with the bars of sin, Mary opens a window form us, so that we can always have a second (and third, and fourth) chance."

You know the one about St. Peter investigating how souls were entering Heaven without his permission?

    Attachment 6882
"...but from other posts from you Oz I would think you don't believe in this kind of thing period."

Well? Have you ever heard an account of someone going to heaven present day and coming back that you believed?

Have I "ever heard an account of someone going to heaven present day and coming back that" lined up with Scripture? No.

Therefore "Have I ever heard an account of someone going to heaven present day and coming back that I believed"? Obviously, No. If something is claimed to be Biblical but does not line up with Scripture .... then it's not.

So "Have I heard of people seemingly believing accounts of people "going to heaven" when those accounts seem to bear no relationship with Scripture, and no Scriptural support is provided as to why these accounts should be believed"? Yes.

    Does this worry me? Yes.

    Does this scare me? Yes.

Why? Because it says something about the state of the Church and the people in it. And what it says is not good.

But does it surprise me? Sadly, no. Biblical and Church history shows us that Godly times rarely last more than a generation or two.
