I am devastated to make this announcement. Just a few moments ago, I was busy getting ready to leave for Chico, when I got a call from Monique who leads the Chico team from Inner City Action. She was onsite at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds in Chico, when they told her that our crusade has been cancelled.
Their explanation was strange, to say the least. Strange, because we checked with the State guidelines and complied with every bit of them, even though their demands would have hurt the crusade. We would volunteer to seat only 250 people. Because of that, I planned to add day-services in order to keep the attendance within the legal limits and yet accommodate the crowds.
We understood the guidelines from Governor Gavin Newsom to be just that, 'guidelines.' Not only that, but the guidelines even made allowance in case the attendance were to exceed 250: that the overflow crowd of people must remain 6 feet away from each other.
The Fairgrounds maintains that the 250 was mandatory, and no more that 250 were to be allowed, and that the 6 foot rule applied to everyone inside the Tent! Picture what that would have looked like! Rows, aisles, each chair, 6 feet from each other. My best guess is that 30 seats would be over 200 feet wide. That was their pretext for saying our Tent was not big enough.
And why did they wait to the very last minute when our team arrived to set up the tent to tell us this?
Funny thing is, Casinos and bars remain open.
This is a demonic attack, and my reaction is to fight it in the Spirit! We dare not get embroiled in legal wrangling. I can understand and have patience with this, because I know we are in a time of widespread fear and panic.
But panic helps no one, especially when the nation needs to pull together. We must be patient with those who are caught in the hysteria, and who don't see the eternal from our perspective as Christians.
What hurts even more is all the volunteers who are travelling to Chico in what is already a stressful time. It is truly devastating to me that we can't get to all of them in time to let them know about the cancellation.
There are no words for my disappointment. We were so ready to win souls and heal the sick! You need to know that if there was any way we could get around this cancellation, I would do it.
Where do we go from here? I solemnly promise you that the enemy will pay. This will not lessen our soul winning—it will increase it! I promise every one of you who gave to win souls that your gift will be used only to win souls.
This is what Paul said in Philippians 1:12-14, "I want to report to you, friends, that my imprisonment here has had the opposite of its intended effect. Instead of being squelched, the Message has actually prospered."
I humbly ask for your ongoing fervent prayers and for your help to get the word out about this cancellation. Also, I want to let you know I will be making a video and releasing that very soon. In the video I will be sharing more about our next move.
God bless you, and thank you for your prayers, patience and understanding.
