I remember back in 2011 when Dr. Van Impe had a falling out with TBN. They cancelled his half hour program. Jack stood for sound doctrine and would not beat around the bush in exposing false doctrine. I watched many or his shows in the mid 80's and 90's. He will be missed.

He probably got old and of not so sound mind. He shouldn't have been on television into his late eighties.

I would have to believe that. We have seen others do and say silly things in their later years. Not to mention being under the "tyranny" of fame from this thing called Christian tv.

I ran across one of his recent shows a few months ago on youtube and his speech was a lot slower. He also was very much more aged in his face.
There comes a time when you need to "hang it up" but "old" jack held in there until the end.

Ditto! - Got saved in '81 too, and Hubby and I watched him every week, when he was on TBN - I Remember when he fell out with Paul and Jan, and they kicked him to the curb - Then, we learned that he was on another station, and we'd tune in from time to time.

1981 was a very good year.

I never really watched him a lot though. Just in passing. He never really was my 'flavor'. I've never been that into end-times stuff.

He was a local Metro Detroiter and would pop up a lot on TV here. I haven't really caught a broadcast of his in a few years tho there was a time I used to enjoy them.

We were told I believe in October or November that they were scaling back/retiring and they left our station in December. We just assumed he decided he was ready to quit.
