Paul addresses the above as many were thinking that way
Romans 6:1,2 - What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
That scripture is very relevant in the current time of some of the grace teaching which is actually 'distorted or hyper grace'

Besides what Cardinal says, such a person must not really understand the nature of sin. Sin is Satan's method of destroying a person, either slowly or quickly. A person who indulges in sin with the idea he or she can be forgiven must be unaware of the collateral damage to their soul by their sin. A true believer hates sin because he or she sees it for what it is--a great destroyer.
