Caused by....interesting concept....But that really is not the issue...the division is real....but so are all splits are they not?
The point is claiming superiority or accuracy of scriptural interpretation is based on those who decided ______ (whatever) makes is so has never been my source of confidence.
I can indoctrinate myself to any belief and convince myself it is true because of my systematic theology...Baptist do it...Catholics....Methodist...Church of Christ....in a debate everyone one of them has an answer for why the other is wrong in their interpretation.
Solid indoctrination can win a debate anytime...does not make it RIGHT.
Actually... both are right at the same time. It's part of the mystery of the Lord.
The Bible teaches there is One God.
The Bible also teachers there are 3 that bare witness in Heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Spirit.
It's quite simple actually.
We are 3 part beings according to the Word of God as having been created in God's image... but we are ONE person.
1 John 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
See there... the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one.
So, you aren't yourself? God created man in His Image - 3 in one person, but yet 3 different parts or persons.
I would respectfully disagree.
If Trinity doctrine is wrong (and I staunchly believe it is), then it is an idol. It is the very Biblical definition of a false image of God and there are many 100s of millions led astray by it.
Will God judge every one of them definitively?
That's God's department, but it's a pretty serious misalignment with God's Word to be worshiping, and praying to, something (and thus someone) other than Almighty God.
Just my 2 cents. :amen:
ETA: I'm not a fan of Michael Brown at all. I have found him to be very insincere and unprofessional multiple times on the radio and on videos of his presentations. I don't find him to represent Scripture honestly or accurately.
