    Rog likes fish. I don't and found out recently that I have a slight allergy to it so maybe my body was telling me something. I will cook salmon sometimes just cuz Rog likes it.
    I REALLY don't like shellfish.

    My dad used to love to fish so any time we got to a lake, we'd have a big feast of lake fish, mostly walleye and some pickerel. That was always the BEST. But as an adult, fish out of the grocery store is just too FISHY.

    Bluegill is a delicacy around here, even beyond whitefish. Trouble is, (literally) fileting the little things. That is why I like fresh caught smallmouth bass out of cold lake Michigan. Serious nummage.

    Bluegill, lake perch (tiny things in our little inland lake), bass, and brook trout (Grandpa was an avid fly fisherman). Oh the days of fishing and catching without a worry about the clock, and no cell phones.

    Largemouth Bass is good
    Bluegill (Bream) are good
    Striped Bass (locally called "rock fish") are good
    Crappee are best
    These are all fresh water gamefish that cannot be sold, ie cannot be sold in a restaurant. The striped bass are an ocean fish that are landlocked, ( they were trapped in inland waters when dams were built).

    Salt and pepper catfish fillets are good too


    Seafood, ... I like shrimp and flounder and orange fish

    I do not eat tuna or salmon or oysters.

    I love fish. Pike, trout, bass, bluegill for sure. Walleye, pearch. I just cooked up some talapia the other night. Don't have any fresh caught fish in the freezer right now.

    Here is a wonderful coating to deep fry fish with. After I take it out of the oil I place it on a plate covered with paper towel and then sprinkle a little bit of Slap Ya Momma on it while it is freshly out of the pan.

    Dab the fillets off dry with a paper towel before dipping them in this mix.

    1 pack of Drakes crispy fry
    2 cups of yellow corn meal
    1 sleeve of crackers smashed
    1 cup of flour
    1 TBSPN salt
    1 TBSPN pepper
    1 TBSPN onion salt
    1 TBSPN cyanne pepper
    1 TBSPN garlic powder


    I mix this up in a large ziplock bag and just pour what I need on a plate for the amount of fish I am cooking.
    It is also good on chicken. I just de-boned some chicken thighs last week and cut them up into chunks and cooked them just like fish in 350 degree oil. It was wonderful.

    Just bought some Flounder fillets yesterday. Going to try them in the next few days. They cost around the same as the Talapia. I will let y'all know if it is any good.
