Joel was asked specifically on a national media show...
Which makes the apology a little insincere. 99.9% that saw the program will never read the 'apology' and they will be left with the answer he gave on the show as 'truth' for them. So the apology doesn't really impress me. That was the easy part compared to answering during the interview.

[QUOTE=Nikos;100659]Do you agree with Joel Osteen about Heaven?
To post this video without noting the correction he issued afterwards is underhanded and dishonest.
Osteen haters and those jealous of him are fond of bringing up his mistakes; not to mention those who hate Pentecostals, charismatics, and word of faith.
It is presenting only half of the story. It is a MO of the IFB and the heresy hunters. It is an old video, that has been around for years. It was a mistake that got corrected. Sad, though, the initial video got more exposure than the correction.
People are fond of attacking Joel Osteen. I am not a follower or fan of him. He is an Encourager, not a Bible Teacher. He does his mission well. He made a mistake in the interview in the video, trying to avoid the trap Larry was setting him up for. He afterwards tried to correct his mistake online. Sadly, not as much publicity was given to the correction.
I liked his dad's preaching much better, and still listen to him sometimes on Youtube.
There are good sermons in abundance on Youtube; John Osteen, Kenneth Hagin, Keith Moore, Debbie Rich, Nancy DuFrense, T.L.Osborn, and more.

What is an 'Osteen hater'? Certainly not just anyone who evaluates his message. If so, Paul was a Barnabas hater and Jesus was a Pharisee hater....
The term 'hater' is a twisted misused judgement of others and should not be used in blanket statements.

I'm certainly not an Osteen hater but some could be jealous of his endearing, heart-warming, Hallmark holiday smile.

"Osteen haters" ... I'm sorry you don't like the term, ..... but it is reality. Many Fundamentals, Pentecostals, and Baptist leaders are constantly opposing him. Most of the western church do not wish him well. I personally think they are jealous and resent him for having the largest church in the USA. They never say anything good about him. They are constantly criticizing him and condemning him. I hear it often.

Many denomination meetings (Southern Baptist) I go to have participates who often refer to Osteen negatively, putting him down in some way. They are constantly criticizing him about something.

Totally agreed! I've been slandered face to face because I stuck with what the word of God says'.
Refused to give my personal opinion when the Bible clearly says what it means.
Been called a narrow minded Bible thumper who is outdated with the times.
Or, have been told, "It doesn't mean that you flake."
Regardless, like you said fuego, got to stick with the word no matter what the opposition says according to "their" own belief system.
If you put God First, you have Him at Last.

I've heard Swaggarts openly bash him many times. If anyone needs to hush it up it's the swags. Just my opinion here. I'm not a fan of Osteen or his ministry style at all. I would not attend his church or listen to him. But to publicly berate him by name is wrong IMO.

I agree. I cannot stand to watch him. But I don't wish him ill. May God use him powerfully to reach some whom others cannot reach.
