Yikes! Our 10 acres is pretty tame in comparison. Neighbor said he saw a bobcat some time ago, but we've only seen red fox, turkeys, deer, and raccoons. I'm sure there are minks and weasels and skunks about too.

The 80ac (not 60, my error) has a pond with an island, stocked with trout and a creek flowing out of it that I cross over in getting to my blind. The other night I was surrounded with gunfire from other bordering parcels. This place was full of deer but notso anymore. Pickins gettin' thin.

That's what has happened in our area too. Lots of gunfire. The processor we use for deer said they had more deer the first week than they have ever had - they assume many more people are hunting than ever before. But we have anterless season in December, so we hope to have a return of snow and maybe get one more before the season is over.

Moved to a different spot. This year I'm sitting near a fresh scrape. After seeing that, next Wednesday can't come quick enough.

I have traveled far since the last time I checked in here. I was scheduled to fly to Israel but war broke out and my flights were canceled. So I hooked up the travel trailer and headed for Florida. After visiting with my sister in Orange Park and a board meeting in Melbourne we got a call to go to Washington D.C. We booked flights, visited with friends on the Gulf Coast and flew to D.C. We met with families of the Hamas hostages, visited with our congressperson and flew back to Florida. Tomorrow I plan to hook up the trailer again and head back to Missouri.
