Thread: Todd Bentley...

Back in the late 80's or so, pastors began divorcing and then leaving their denominations and starting their own churches. One man band churches sometimes equals no accountability in behaviour or doctrine. I suspect the Todd Show will go on.

The timeline seems short 11 years later but a lot can happen in 7 weeks. His adulterous affair may not have technically begun yet by June 20. In that case the apostolic commissioning could have lead him away from temptation if he had chosen that path instead of the one that was brewing. It could have been all God and not just a reflection of a lack of knowledge on the part of the commissioners.

Remember this? Here are the people who put Todd on the charismatic pedestal back in the 2008 commissioning. This was the "system" installed by those charismatic leaders who lacked spiritual discernment as they prayed, layed hands, and commissioned Todd as an anointed preacher in Lakeland.

They apostolic roundtable instead of being quick to lay on of hands should have instead laid off and watched. Neither did they need to do this publically in a manner that drew attention to man. This is where it became a show. Where was pastor Strader at this point?

As one having been there, if I recall when the meetings moved out from the church, they still had morning bible studies and powerful ministry at Strader’s church. Otherwise, for the rest of it he pretty much remained unseen.

I would say I have pitty on those that follow this charlatan, but I do not

I'm sure satan is quite pleased with the number of nutjobs that continue to follow this "man of god" (little g used on purpose since this guy is a servant of the god of this world)

More well known preachers are going to be exposed like he has before long... lots of sin going on behind the scenes of those that are one point calvinists adhering to OSAS, aka the security while continuing in sin so-called gospel

Wikipedia now has Todd Bentley listed as a "Unitarian Universalist". ???

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Todd_Bentley

"Todd David Bentley (born January 10, 1976) is a Canadian Unitarian Universalist evangelist. He was a key figure of the Lakeland Revival[4] and was in leadership of Fresh Fire Ministries Canada until stepping down in August 2008.[5][6][7] The following year, as part of his restoration process, he started a new ministry called Millstone Ministries USA."

Is this going to remain posted as such or is there going to be a wiki war over the delete/edit button? We’ll see. Unless of course he has joined the Canadian group “The Tentmakers”.

Looking at the definition for that it could be a prank :

"Unitarian Universalism (UU)[2][3][4] is a liberal religion characterized by a "free and responsible search for truth and meaning".[5][6] Unitarian Universalists assert no creed, but instead are unified by their shared search for spiritual growth. As such, their congregations include many atheists, agnostics, and theists within their membership. The roots of Unitarian Universalism lie in liberal Christianity, specifically Unitarianism and universalism. Unitarian Universalists state that from these traditions comes a deep regard for intellectual freedom and inclusive love. Congregations and members seek inspiration and derive insight from all major world religions.[7]"

Maybe someone's trying to categorize him according to his current lifestyle.

He is headed in that direction. He speaks much about spiritual beings, power, having power...yet so little about Jesus. Or repentance, to which he has disqualified himself by his lifestyle.
