The coming of the Messiah
I'm reading a small book by Daniel Kolenda called "The Mystery of the Magi" where he traces their origin to Daniel's time in Babylon. He discusses prophecies made by Daniel and here's an excerpt from page 31 :
Daniel 9:25 says that it would be "seven weeks and sixty-two weeks" unto "Messiah the Prince" (A week is 7 days, so if you take 7 x 69 years = 483 years.) Jews and Babylonians at that time counted 360 days per year. So, 483 years, at 360 days per year = 173,880 days. The prophecy says that the days would start counting down "...from the command to restore and build Jerusalem." This happened in Nehemiah 2:1-8 when Artaxerxes gave the command to rebuild Jerusalem on March 14, 445 BC. If we count 173,880 days from this date (correcting for leap years) we come to April 6, 32 AD, the day Jesus made his triumphal entry into Jerusalem and revealed himself as Messiah in exactly the way Zechariah predicted he would (Zechariah 9:9)
Interesting, isn't it ?

Yep. I wonder where he got that. I know he didn't do all that math on his own.

Yeah, I seen that somewhere quite a few years ago. Good stuff nevertheless!
