It's official. I made the decision to retire today. I'll be 67 on July 5th and I am not getting any younger. Forty-two years in the residential trash industry has been a long haul. I've been off work close to six months now since the seizure I experienced on Dec 23rd. I was thinking about going back for one last year. I saw my doctor this morning and she medically cleared me to go back to work on June 26th. I then went to the DOT doctor to renew my medical card and there were issues there. If you have a brain injury/seizure they want you not driving a commercial truck for two years. So, what the heck, I've been doing this a along time, so now is a better time than ever to hang up the spurs and start the next phase of my life. I will look for opportunities to volunteer in a godly Christian organization as to what the Lord would have me to do up here in my neck of the woods. Besides, my wife is getting ready to retire soon also. We are both excited as we enter into this next chapter of our lives. We're both beyond the mid-way point in our lives here on earth, so we will trust the Lord to lead us to what He would have in store for us to do. As we look at where we are at now in our lives, we both just want to finish the race and finish well. Ya know, stay the course, go the distance, and have a great finish. And when it's all said and done, cross over and meet Jesus face to face. Love all my brothers and sisters here at LFF. And never forget, you're in this race too for the rest of your life as well. Finish strong. See ya all one day in glory around the throne. PTL
