Scheme to eliminate Electoral College now has 15 states on board

-Nevada has become the latest state to sign onto a plan that would give the state's Electoral College votes to the winner of the national popular vote regardless of how the state's own citizens vote.

The scheme, being led by an organization called National Popular Vote, would go into effect when enough states join to equal 270 Electoral College votes. With the addition of Nevada, thus far the movement has gained 195 electoral votes.

Nevada Assemblyman Jim Wheeler, a Republican, said the whole plan runs contrary to the American tradition. "If we go to a national popular vote, why would they even bother coming here? Our constitution says we're a republic, not a democracy," Wheeler said. "I voted 'no' on the national popular vote because I don't want Nevada to be a flyover state."

Along with Nevada, the states signed on with the scheme are California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington.

"Few people actually realize that Democrats and the left have done this in 15 states, already," Turning Point USA founder and executive director Charlie Kirk said in a May 28 interview on SiriusXM's Breitbart News Daily. "This is called the National Popular Vote Compact — an interstate compact — where essentially states have agreed to send their electoral votes to the winner of the popular."...

Well, Hillary won the popular vote so of course this is what they're trying to do. It would be awesome for them to change it and then Trump win the popular vote.

So, these states can do this individually regardless of what the election law is? In other words this is a done deal if they want to do that? It can't be fought?

    I could see that happening.

At this point Biden is leading all the other candidates by a wide margin. If he gets the nomination, I could see Trump almost winning by a landslide. But you never know.

the way it works circumvents each state's voting.

No matter how the state votes, (it might/or not make a difference) if the total popular vote goes for a difference candidate the state will give their electorial votes to the popular winner.

They know they haven't a snowball's chance of getting states to overturn the electoral college so this is their end run around it.

it's dispicable and tacky, and they're getting what they need to do it.

Absolutely! I want to know at what point we can start pointing these groups out as domestic enemies of the US Constitution? There are a whole lot of us who have sworn to protect our Constitution from ALL enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC. I have yet to find an expiration date on that oath.

It's become the status quo in politics to subvert or outright disobey the laws and nobody does anything about it. It's crazy the passivity toward this. And the liberals of course defend it because all the law breaking goes toward their agenda.
