Stranger throws boy off 3rd floor balcony at mall

-A bystander rushed to help and apprehend the stranger accused of throwing a five-year-old boy from the third-floor balcony in the Mall of America, it has emerged.

Little Landen Hoffmann of Woodbury, Minnesota, was tossed from the balcony on Friday and police arrested 24-year-old Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda, who is from the Minneapolis metro area.

Aranda was charged with attempted homicide and is currently being held at the Bloomington Police Department.

A bystander who police say witnessed Aranda push the child stopped him from fleeing the scene.

Bloomington Police Chief Jeff Potts said Saturday: 'We're very appreciative of his efforts to try to intervene and help out in a very difficult situation.'

Police were called to the Mall of America after Aranda, who is not thought to be of any relation, allegedly threw Landen from the balcony. He fell nearly 40 feet...

... Witnesses say a woman at the mall was screaming hysterically after the child was thrown.

'She was screaming "Everyone pray, everyone pray. Oh my God, my baby, someone threw him over the edge,"' Brian Johnson told WCCO.

Emergency crews had rushed to help the child...

"He gets out of the car every morning happy and blows kisses all the way in! He's a strong, happy boy," the post added. "When his mommy asks him if she can look at his wound or asks how he's doing, he always responds with 'Mom, I'm healed, you don't need to ask me anymore.' Landen loves life and Jesus!"

It continued: "He tells people all the time when they get hurt, don't worry, I fell off a cliff, but Angels caught me and Jesus loves me, so I'm ok and you will be too!"

When I first read about this I was horrified that someone could throw a child off a balcony.

Praise God for his goodness and grace in saving him

Yeah that. Some people are simply absolute evil in the act. Some try hard to make themselves that callous in general but the specific acts committed are always the worst. Maybe that was Judas Iscariot while he was carrying out his betrayal of Jesus.
