Ezekiel 33 (04-03-2019)
Quote : "America may be a long way from Venezuela’s tragedy, experts say. Polls show that many of the 37 percent of Americans who say they support “socialism” actually have in mind the generous welfare states seen in Europe, rather than the traditional definition of socialism – the nationalization of production."
Finland belongs in the welfare state category, what Chavez eventually implemented in Venezuela is real Socialism and is quite different - the AOC kind.

Ezekiel 33 (04-03-2019)
What we see in North Western Europe is a lot of countries that have implemented elaborate welfare systems successfully within largely Capitalist societies. It could be argued that there is no point unless there is a certain level of prosperity and equality to begin with. Which is the opposite of when poorer countries all over the world were taken by the Communist world dominion agenda and tried to implement outright Socialism in an attempt to become prosperous that way. The ones that failed the least were large countries with a lot of resources - the Soviet Union and China. The smaller and poorer countries typically fared worse.
I'm with Paul the apostle-Those who don't work don't eat.
I agree with you, the concept of giving everyone a salary even if they refuse to work while being totally able to belongs in lala land. It's beyond what the original Marxists and Communists dreamt of. Everyone was supposed to work but in Utopia they would get away with working less - unless they really wanted to work. Let's hope the Finns don't try to implement the concept in general.
