Paul who was 100% Jew warned about aspects of Jewish culture that were not scripturally true and called them fables
The books of Ezra and Nehemiah are the newest historical books in the Old Testament, they cover the period from about 500 to about 400 BC, the first hundred years after the exile in Babylon. Towards the end of that period they are extremely upset about the fact that a lot of Jewish men had taken pagan wives.

Ezra 10:10 Then Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, “You have transgressed and have taken pagan wives, adding to the guilt of Israel.
11 Now therefore, make confession to the Lord God of your fathers, and do His will; separate yourselves from the peoples of the land, and from the pagan wives.”

Earlier Ezra recounts the law and also mentions giving their daughters to be married to pagan men :

9:12 Now therefore, do not give your daughters as wives for their sons, nor take their daughters to your sons; and never seek their peace or prosperity, that you may be strong and eat the good of the land, and leave it as an inheritance to your children forever.’
13 And after all that has come upon us for our evil deeds and for our great guilt, since You our God have punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and have given us such deliverance as this,
14 should we again break Your commandments, and join in marriage with the people committing these abominations?

But there is no effort to break those marriages apart, only the ones involving Jewish men. Their main concern was that they would have children by those pagan wives :

10:44 All these had taken pagan wives, and some of them had wives by whom they had children.

Their experience throughout history was that pagan wives brought foreign customs including idolatry into what was supposed to be a Jewish household. So even though the bloodline was technically Jewish because of the Jewish father, the culture and conduct became impure.

I can't recall any mention of households that involved Jewish women and pagan men being considered Jewish.

On the contrary, Paul never wrote against anything that was Biblically based. He did attempt to correct man made traditions that conflicted with the Bible and he actively opposed corruption within the council of the Sadducees who were ruling the temple at that time.
