How much are a dozen eggs in your area?

In another thread we talked about current milk prices and there were some surprising cost differences:

Let's jump to egg prices, tell us where you're located and what eggs are costing in your area. In Metro Detroit you can find them 'on sale' for $2.49 a dozen...a lot higher than normal because of the current bird flu shortage.

I don't buy a lot of eggs anymore. My husband will have them MAYBE once a week and I bake with them so I started buying what we are led to believe as healthier eggs. Either the ones touted as high omega or organic free run.

SO, I pay, I think, usually over $6/doz.

Normal size large eggs are, I believe around $2.99? I'll have a look the next time I'm at the groc store.

I also bought my hubby some quail eggs because they're supposed to be more nutritious than chicken eggs but he found them too tedious. I had a thread on the old forum about them.

Not sure about definitions but here in Norway they live in a very cramped space if the carton isn't marked otherwise, slightly less cramped if it is marked "free ranging" (which you can actually get for 2.3 or 2.4 dollars per dozen) and then something that actually resembles free ranging if it is marked "ecological". Eggs that are categorized as larger than "medium" cost more, in general.
