The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. Someone is wrong. The Books of Revelation and Daniel are actually very specific in what is coming. That's about as definitive as it gets. So that's not speculation.

There are SO many ideas about when, and really, since it's something we have NO control over, all our speculation is just that.. speculation. There is no definitive "this is it". (not that there aren't folks who think they know.. but no one does.)

It is actually a lot easier than most people think, the problem is that most prophecy "scholars" start in the wrong place... Most of them beginning in Matthew and go back and forwards from there but in fact you have to go way back before that to the book of Leviticus and begin there to get a good understanding...

    I agree with you completely.

I agree we know what's (or, some of what's) coming.. but we don't know WHEN it's coming. And we don't know all the particulars on in what way it's coming.

I've seen discussions turn to heated yellfests that divide over this.

Jesus said, even He didn't know the day or hour. I'll go with Him.

If I'm expecting, and about what I need to be about.. I'm good.

Michelle, I would never fault anyone else for being passionate about it. I was once myself.. my focus chanced.

Might be part of why I wasn't overly keen on doing Revelation in BSF. It's a new study. But, I'm really liking it. The focus is the revelation of Jesus Christ as a whole.. not just when He's coming back.

For me, the study isn't about figuring out the exact timing.

It's about understanding what the deception of the enemy will be.....which I believe will be so subtle it will be difficult to detect. As at the beginning so at the end....Adam and Eve fell for the subtle deception of the enemy and we are no different than they are.

And the nature of deception is that one doesn't know when one is deceived.

Anyway, it takes all kinds....we're all different threads in a tapestry that makes a beautiful picture when woven all together.

Femme, I don't have any issue at all with people who at least are on board with any sort of pre/mid/post rapture orthodox understanding of scripture. You can prooftext those three all day long. My main concern is with people who hold dogmatic amillennial or preterist views. What happens when everything starts coming to pass as stated in scripture, particularly on the technology end, and governments wants to start putting chips into people and the aforementioned don't have any discernment at all that this is a dangerous thing? Perhaps because you aren't surrounded with people who are preterists or amillennialists you aren't as concerned, but I am, and it greatly concerns me. I mean greatly. Bethel Church, which has a LOT of influence, promotes amillennialism. Will some of the leaders have the sense to change their minds about amillenialism when the time comes? I hope so. But my concern is for the young and immature. Because one thing I've seen over the years is that when people so desperately cling to any theology, and they feel they were deceived or hoodwinked, tend to become bitter or backslide in a dramatic fashion. In other words, my concern is that people are setting a lot of people up to stumble.

So no, for me, it's not about fighting or arguing about going through the tribulation or not....for me, it's about embracing a completely bizarre understanding of Revelation or Daniel, and not discerning the baseball bat being aimed at your head and being completely shocked by it when it knocks you out. And as I said, we owe it to the world to leave a legacy of truth, so they too will not be unaware. The amillennial view is that the world is going to get better and better as Christians take over every "mountain" of culture on earth, in every country, and hand it to Jesus on a silver platter upon His return. They view the book of Revelation as one big metaphor. Preterists believe ALL of Daniel and Revelation has been fullfilled.

Revelation 7:9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.
I believe that's when we/the church goes, I don't what that makes me.

    Catchy, thanks for the clarification.

Michelle.. I reached the point I know our enemy is ALWAYS looking for a way to target us. I agree that things are ramping up for some real nastiness.

I'm glad there are folks who take a close look and can distill it down.. the rest of us can read and go "yeah! that makes sense.." or "eh.. not so sure on that one"

    It's actually very important though.

The doctrine of Pre-Mil has led many to leave the Faith.
