    American Supreme Court

Can someone explain to ignorant non Americans why Supreme Court judges have been given authority to overrule govt policy.
I understand that they can make crucial decisions but they are clearly biased either right or left.

Did the founders or the constitution believe they should have that much power

Do you believe it should be this way or should govt have the final say?

I find it strange someone like Ruth Ginsberg age 85 and clearly too old to have this position exercising power regardless of their politics

I think the reasoning is that the evil government must be kept in check so they need something worse, a judicial aristocracy, to do that job. As opposed to European kings these aristocrats wield actual power.
