Yeah, you can find it in a few places just under $4. At bigger airport at some price gouging FBOs (fixed based operators) you can pay $6-$7 plus per gallon.
I'm blessed in that the flying club I belong to is ridiculously cheap. A 172 equipped like the one I fly would probably cost you at least $120-$130 wet (gas included) if not more an hour to rent. I paid $400 one time to join this club, and I only pay $75 an hour wet and a $70 monthly fee. That's why I don't mind driving an hour to get there. Still an expensive hobby though. But I'm about to get my commercial license and I have an acquaintance who told me when I get it he could get me an interview at a place where he is the chief pilot to fly right seat (co-captain) in a Pilatus PC12 for charter which is a single engine turboprop pictured below. Then I would get paid to fly instead of having to pay to fly. We'll see how it goes.
