Just converted all 14 automotive incandescent 12v bulbs over to LED bulbs. Been wanting to do this for 5yrs and now doing it. This is a huge power saver when camping offgrid in the boonesvilles running power off the 12v onboard battery.
Next will be the addition of a 2300w portable, quiet generator that will double as a backup for home power outtages.

So, we're camping.
My impulsive wife texts me at "work" (unloading truck at my brother's meat business) and asks if we could leave 2 days early. We left.

We are at a place just east of Petoskey called Camp Petosega on Pickeral Lake. Nice place. Next month we'll head into boonie country at the Pigeon River State Forest.

The new generator has arrived! I've wanted one for camping the last 20 years and finally ordered up a Wen 2250w unit. Today it's getting a good break-in and test on the camper. This will be a nice addition. Nothing like drinking mugs of designer high zoot gourmet coffee from your Keurig out in the middle of nowheresville.

Firebrand do you mostly do boondocking? I'm planning to move back to the US next year and we think we will buy an RV. My wife is not excited about boondocking though. Personally I love the idea of sitting near a lake with a fishing pole. We both have electric bicycles so I won't compete with your mountain bike. I sold my scooter a while back but I wasn't going to ship that to the US anyway.

We love boondocking the state forest campgrounds (usually next to lakes and streams). Very quiet, small, and accessible by small trailers and MH's (5th wheels probably not advised). Our trailer is 20' so it pulls in well. Some larger and busier state campgrounds are a tighter fit. The one we are heading to has 10 sites, the next has 6. One is on a lake and I'm fishing it.

Going offgrid. Packing and prepping for the deep wilderness. Pics will follow at some point. This will be a fun one!

That surprised me a little. You've been a tour guide in Israel for quite a while, even if you retired I guess I always thought you'd still live there.
