Seems the naked eye cannot see far enough so look at this...

Wonder just how far a ship would have to travel to ACTUALLY be going over the horizon? I read down and the guy that took this used a really good camera ...not sure how much RANGE it covered...

I read where someone said he used a telescope and it dropped off but he produced no video..

It is going over the horizon just there is a mirror effect and the real horizon line is where the mirroring begins. The red on the boat drops below the horizon during the video.

Here is a video where there is no heat haze mirroring effect :

As someone asked...why does the entire ship disappear evenly. Should it not tilt?

I found another video series that was just started a month ago...

Flat Earth Experiment (1 of 5)
He has also done #2 and promise to have through # 5 by October. He has 3 experiments and gives the conclusions that should be found either way.

If we haven't even been into space, what is the satellite dish on my house pointed at?

And how do I manage to watch the International Space Station fly overhead? (This can be seen with the naked eye. If you have a good pair of binoculars, you can actually make out its shape)
This is the UK site I use which gives details of ISS passes. Don't know if there is a US equivalent? http://www.meteorwatch.org/uk-iss-pa...gust-2015.html

It's become popular over the last couple of years to look out for the ISS on Christmas Eve to tell children it's Santa's sleigh flying by. (UNLESS THAT'S THE LIE! IT'S *NOT* THE ISS! IT REALLY IS SANTA!)

The thing is though. Some people believe what they want to believe. Something like that, you can give them the information, but they're not likely to suddenly go "oh, OK, Earth not flat". Maybe after they've slept on it a few weeks will they start to wonder.

Good one Monk, I never thought to look for a site that tells you when its passing over:

On a side note, you didn't like the monkfish avatar I gave you? What's this new one about? ;)

Well, I was quite happy with it, but then I thought there was a risk people might think it was me, so I changed it. :)
