    PG-16

I don't know how many of you have watched this video. My oldest showed it to me the other day, and I respect this guy for standing up to the white and black community with this video. Be forewarned it has some violence, and I think one "cuss" word.

    This is America

Not sure I "get" it. I watched the Washington Post interpretation video, but it didn't help much.

As a non American I don't get it - seems to be saying America is violent but then his video promotes violence

His video is definitely NOT promoting violence.

If you'll notice the way the guns are handled after the shooting...always gently taken away in a cloth. The victims either dragged away, or left. They're not shown the same courtesy as the guns.

You'll also notice in the background, one of the young people committing suicide.

IMHO he's saying that the African American community is so concerned with the outside, the lyrics "I'm so pretty" and so sexualized, that they're not focusing on what's important.

Notice the beater cars toward the end? When he's saying, "Black man get yo money." It's all about the oppression of the average black American. Believing they have something "good," when they're, at best, settling for average.

And of course, the end when he's running from the white people. That one's pretty obvious.

I just think it's such a well thought out video. Every expression he makes....everything....
